What Is Roller Derby?
Roller derby is a fast, fun, full‑contact skating sport played on a track. Skaters race, block, and strategize their way through each jam — it’s like speed skating, teamwork, and pure adrenaline all rolled into one. It’s exciting to watch and even more fun to play!
A Quick History of Derby
Roller derby began in the 1930s as long‑distance skating races, but it quickly evolved into the fast, fun sport we know today. In the early 2000s, skaters rebuilt derby from the ground up — making it community‑run, empowering, and proudly inclusive.
Today, derby welcomes all genders, all body types, and all backgrounds. Junior derby gives young skaters a place to shine, grow, and discover what they’re capable of.
